St Francis Pet Medals Love & Protect

Sometimes the simple things in life that we say or do can have the biggest impact, when it comes to promoting and sharing love, protection and kindness to animals, like St Francis pet medals

Everyday I feel blessed when I'm engraving and gift wrapping each tag we sell because I know it is going to a pet that is very much loved and taken care of.

The words in the Prayer of St Francis are beautiful and personally I find strength and peace in saying this Prayer every morning. It reminds me of how important it is that I come from a place of love and hold every animals welfare in my heart.

St Francis Prayer:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

This daily practice led me to a place where I became vegan, starting in 2008. A couple of bumps along the way took me away from staying on this path.  Sometimes, I was lazy about making the most compassionate choice at every meal and with every purchase I made and there was some social pressure and stigma that I encountered along the way too

However, only when I made a solid commitment to the animals first and foremost did I find it so much easier to embrace this lifestyle fully.  Something I didn't expect as a result, was how much I felt my heart opened up, like a dam that burst and a lightness came in because I was no longer making decisions that supported cruelty to animals.

Along the way I've learned so much about food and nutrition too and want to share this with others who are interested. As someone who was not always vegan and lives with a non vegan (who is very supportive of my choices) I hold no judgement of another. If you're interested, stay posted as I will be sharing articles, recipes, tips and more on my Pet Blessings blog page.

The people I've encountered in the Vegan community are loving and kind and put the animals welfare and treatment first as they make decisions in life. I love that and it's encouraged me to be speak up and be more of a voice for the animals, I believe this is my purpose in life.

As it  happens, it also turns out that embracing this simpler lifestyle is much kinder to the Planet and my personal health. There is a gift in everything.
